Slow Cooker Berry Crumble

It didn’t take long for us to start making desserts in the slow cooker and even though this was only our second experiment, we were both really impressed with this dish. As full as we were after our three courses, we still managed to find room to squeeze in a second helping of dessert!

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag of frozen berries
  • 200g plain flour
  • 100g butter
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 150g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

Method:

  1. In the slower cooker, empty the bag of fruit and add the granulated sugar and the cinnamon and mix.
  2. In a mixing bowl, sift in the flour and add the butter.
  3. Rub the butter into the flour to make the crumble and stir in the caster sugar.
  4. Add this over the fruit in the slow cooker and cook on high for 2 and a half to 3 hours.

Another simple recipe using minimal ingredients meaning that the three courses were put together inexpensively so would be perfect for anyone who is cooking on a budget. As we’ve said the vast majority of the ingredients in this meal can be found in the cupboards so they should be easy for you to throw together yourselves. Just to use the pun again, the recipe to this dessert is so simple that we’re sure you won’t crumble under the pressure but find it berry easy to put together and enjoy!!
